Draft for review. Not yet in effect; Gauntlet is invite-only while these are finalised.
Terms of Service
You're practising with AI. The interviewer, Trainer Tom and the grader are AI systems built on Anthropic's Claude. Their voices are computer-generated (Google Cloud Text-to-Speech).
Scores are practice feedback, not a hiring assessment or a prediction of any interview outcome. Gauntlet is independent: it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or using rubrics from Google or any employer. AI can be wrong, so check anything factual before relying on it.
Draft version 2026-10, not yet in effect.
1. Who we are and what this is
Gauntlet (the "Service") is operated by Andy Herman, an individual ("we", "us"). You can reach us at neural.bridge.dev@gmail.com (postal address TBD).
The Service lets you practise answering job-interview questions by text or voice. An artificial-intelligence system grades your answers and an AI coach gives feedback. You are interacting with AI, not a human. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. Not affiliated with any employer
The Service is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC or any other employer, and it does not use any company's confidential interview materials. Company names, product names and job levels are used only to describe the interviews you are preparing for. Google and other marks are trademarks of their respective owners.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You may not use the Service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law. You use the Service for your own personal interview preparation, not on behalf of an employer or to evaluate other people.
4. Your account
- You sign in with Google Sign-In or another method we offer. Keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Give accurate profile information (for example, target role and interview dates). It is used only to tailor your practice.
- One person per account. Don't share or sell accounts.
- Tell us promptly at neural.bridge.dev@gmail.com if you think your account has been compromised.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit anyone else's confidential information. This includes your current or former employer's non-public information, and interview questions, materials or feedback you agreed to keep confidential (for example, under a candidate non-disclosure agreement). Use anonymised or hypothetical details in your answers.
- Submit content that infringes someone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights, or that is unlawful, harassing, hateful or sexually explicit.
- Use the Service to screen, rank, score or make decisions about other people, including job candidates or employees.
- Copy, scrape, harvest or bulk-download the Service's questions, rubrics or outputs, or use them to build or train a competing product or AI model.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract source code, prompts or model configuration, except where the law expressly permits this despite this restriction.
- Probe, scan or test the Service's security, or bypass rate limits, access controls or usage caps.
- Use bots, scripts or automated means to access the Service, or create accounts by automated means.
- Try to make the AI produce harmful, illegal or deceptive content, or misuse it to impersonate others.
- Resell, sublicense or provide the Service to third parties.
We may investigate and act on violations, including by removing content or suspending accounts.
6. Your content
- You own your content. "Your content" means your answers, recordings, transcripts, notes, profile details and anything else you submit.
- The licence you give us is narrow. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, transcribe, transmit and display your content only to operate, secure and provide the Service to you (including sending it to our AI and hosting providers for that purpose), and to comply with law. We do not sell your content, publish it, or show it to other users.
- Model training. We do not use your content to train AI models, and our AI provider does not either under our agreement with it.
- Aggregated statistics. We may create de-identified, aggregated statistics that cannot reasonably identify you (for example, average scores per question) to improve the Service.
- The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backup copies kept for a limited period ([30] days) and anything we must keep by law.
- You confirm you have the rights to submit your content and that doing so does not breach any agreement you are bound by.
7. Our content and AI output
- The Service, including its questions, rubrics, software and design, is owned by us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it for your own interview preparation.
- AI-generated feedback, scores and sample answers ("Output") are provided for your personal use. You may keep and use Output for your own preparation. Output may be similar to output given to other users, and we do not claim it is unique.
8. Important limits of AI feedback
- No guarantee of results. Practising with the Service does not guarantee an interview, offer, level or any employment outcome.
- Not accurate in every case. AI grading and coaching can be wrong, inconsistent or incomplete. Scores are practice signals, not predictions of how any company will assess you.
- No insider knowledge. Rubrics and level descriptions are our own interpretation of public information. They do not represent any employer's actual criteria, process or decisions.
- Not professional advice. The Service is not career counselling, legal, immigration or financial advice.
- Use your own judgment, and check important information with authoritative sources.
9. Voice features
If you use voice, you authorise us to record and transcribe your audio to provide feedback. We use audio only for that purpose, do not use it to identify you by voice, and keep raw audio only if you turn on "Keep my recordings", and then delete it after 30 days, as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties, including Anthropic (AI processing) and Google (sign-in, hosting and text-to-speech). Their services are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
11. Fees
The Service is currently free. We may introduce paid features later. If we do, we will show the price and terms before you buy, and you will not be charged without agreeing. [PLACEHOLDER: billing, renewals, cancellation, refunds, taxes, app-store purchase terms.]
12. Feedback
If you send suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
13. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent: Andy Herman, postal address TBD, neural.bridge.dev@gmail.com. Include the information required by 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3). We will remove infringing material where appropriate and terminate repeat infringers.
14. Suspension and termination
- You may stop using the Service at any time.
- We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Where reasonable, we will give you notice and a chance to download your data.
- Sections 2, 6 (backup and legal retention), 7, 8, 12, and 15–20 survive termination.
15. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account, or as explained at /legal/delete-account, without reinstalling the app. Deletion removes your profile and content from active systems within [30] days and from backups within [90] days. We may keep limited records where the law requires it or for security and fraud prevention, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
16. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, OR THAT OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR LEAD TO ANY RESULT. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of these may not apply to you.
17. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- (a) WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES OR LOST DATA;
- (b) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (i) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND (ii) US $[100].
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or gross negligence where that rule applies.
18. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from third-party claims arising from content you submit in breach of these Terms, including claims that you disclosed someone else's confidential information.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [the State of Washington, USA], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts in [King County, Washington], and you and we consent to that jurisdiction. Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court. [OPTIONAL, COUNSEL: arbitration agreement and class-action waiver, with opt-out.] Nothing here removes rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection laws where you live.
20. Changes
We may update these Terms. For material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email at least [14] days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new Terms. If you don't accept them, delete your account.
21. General
- These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
- If any part is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- If we don't enforce a provision, we haven't waived it.
- You may not transfer these Terms. We may transfer them to a successor in connection with a merger, sale or reorganisation.
